Countdown Calendar

The clock's ticking! Here's a week-by-week guide to getting it all done.

Week 12: Set a date and a few alternatives; establish a budget; get ideas and referrals for your site, food, honeymoon and soon from bridal magazines and friends; set up appointments with potential vendors and ceremony and reception sites for the next twoweeks; shop for a gown.

Week 11: Book your ceremony and reception venues and as many pros as you can; ask people to be in your bridal party; order invitations and rings; block out hotel rooms for out-of-town guests; book your honeymoon trip.

Week 10: Hire any remaining vendors; buy dress and accessories; book appointments for a manicure and pedicure for the day before the wedding and a hair and makeup stylist for the big day; get blood tests, if required (talk to your officiant).

Week 9: Send invitations; find bridesmaid dresses; send your fiance to get tuxes for himself and his groomsmen.

Week 8: Register for gifts.

Week 7: Meet with the officiant to plan the ceremony.

The lovely new Hilton Garden Inn, located in downtown historic Richmond, will be the venue for this amazing event held Sunday, June 28, 2009 from 1:30PM to 4:00PM. While showcasing this beautiful venue, our special guest speakers will inform you with tips on ways to make your celebration a day to remember. Keeping with the theme, the event will showcase things that are new and blue on the market today and highlight ideas that are borrowed from yesterday. We will have vendors offering specialty bridal items and services. Also joining us for this fun filled afternoon event will be DC¡¯s Finest! Veteran Planner, Kelley Gillespie. Kelley is the President of GEM Events and Past President of the Greater Washington D.C. Chapter of International Special Event Society, she currently serves as Board Member of the Special Events Magazine. DeCambreEvents and Associates will be donating a portion of the proceeds to support Children¡¯s Health Involving Parents (CHIP). CHIP of Greater Richmond brings education and support services to the homes of low-income families with young children who live in the Richmond area. ¡°At DeCambreEvents & Associates, we are both excited and thrilled to bring Richmond this wonderful event.
